'The Qur'an' Channel 4 documentary

A Muslim member of the French government, who has backed a court's decision to deny citizenship to a Moroccan woman who wears the burqa, will no doubt be the cause of yet more political and religious fall out. I admire some one for taking this type of step against any practice that purports to have religious founding’s yet is fundamentally used as a means to hold back women, or other groups, in order to further the rights of men. It is no different in this faith as it is in others whereby written scriptures are used and interpreted by fanatics to justify their cause.

I watched a TV documentary called entitled ‘The Qur’an’ in the week that, amongst many other issues, bought into question the origin and misinterpretation of the Qur’an. A part of it went on to explain how the covering of the head with the Niqab began and how it became more popular in the 70’s and 80’s in certain countries. I have since tried to view it again on the internet but cannot find it. If ever it is repeated it is well worth a watch.

My stance on religion stands the same, rid religion of fanatics, starting at the top with those religious leaders whom should not even exist in true Islamic faith and those pompous odious leaders of the Christian faith whom wear frocks yet do not permit women into their upper echelons

Practice your religion in peace and harmony, but above all in equality and harmony with the man or woman next to you, regardless of their religion.
